While reviewing applicants for a posted job, the hiring manager identified an applicant whose skills and experience matched that which was needed for a job we were going to be opening and hiring very soon. We use ICIMS as our applicant tracking system. We created the new job in ICIMS, so the applicant could apply to that new job. However, we had to post the job in order for the applicant to complete the application process. Because the job was posted, there were other people who applied. I have two questions: Are we REQUIRED to view the resumes from the other applicants when we had a pre-selected candidate? Second question: The hiring manager failed to advise HR that the position is Temporary, Full Time. The pre-selected candidate is okay with the temporary nature, but the job was not advertised as Temporary. Can we update the job requisition in ICIMS and include the “temporary”status in the offer letter, even though the job ad did not specify it was Temporary? Thank you in advance!
