Today, as we celebrate the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, we would also like to congratulate Jenny Rae Yang who has been named the new OFCCP Director. She has been appointed to this position by the new President Joe Biden administration.
In 2012, Yang was appointed to to the the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a federal agency tasked with enforcing civil laws against workplace discrimination, by President Barack Obama. In 2014, Yang was chosen to succeed Jacqueline A. Berrien as Chair of the EEOC. She left the commission in 2017. During Yang’s time as chair, the EEOC established a Select Task Force on the Study of Harassment in the Workplace to address workplace sexual harassment. In 2020, Yang testified before the House Committee on Education and Labor, where she advocated to regulate algorithmic employment decisions.
