We would like to open a job internally to give our employees the first opportunity to apply for a new position. Unfortunately, our application platform doesn’t currently support internal job postings, so if we post the job, it will also be available to external candidates. This means we are forced to have an internal application process. If we are unable to find the right candidate internally, we will then open the position to external candidates.
As federal contractors, are we still required to open the job externally at the same time? Would this practice have any impact on our AAP reports and fair employment practices?
