How does the OFCCP look at/evaluate experience ranges in job descriptions? An example could be that the job description says, “2-4 years of experience in an administrative clerical support position.” Does the OFCCP consider ranges stated that way as potential age discrimination?
We try to encourage job descriptions to state “at least [number] years of [insert experience]” or “minimum [number] years of [insert experience]” versus a range. With this type of wording, the minimum number of years would be considered the minimum requirement and any years of experience over that would be considered ‘desired.’
