On September 15, 2017, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced an increase in the minimum wage rate to be paid to workers performing on or in connection with federal contracts covered by Executive Order 13658, "Establishing a Minimum Wage for Contractors."
Beginning January 1, 2018, the minimum wage covered contractors are required to pay covered workers under the Executive Order will be raised from $10.20 per hour to $10.35 per hour. For tipped employees, the minimum wage would be raised from $6.80 per hour to $7.25 per hour. If the worker does not receive enough tips to produce the full amount, then the employer must pay the worker additional wages to bring him or her up to $10.35.
